Women Empowerment – Police Training for Students - 9th November 2017

We are living in a time when attacks on women are on the rise and they hardly feel safe in their own homes. It seems that the first most effective way of curbing this intrusion is the ability to react and confront the assaulters. Our system of education and the different programmes we organise aim to achieve this objective – enabling and equipping our students to stand up to the challenges they encounter.
The girls in our college, on 9th November 2017, underwent an exclusive one-hour training programme. It was inaugurated by Mr. Murugan, Sub Inspector of Police, Idukki. Rev. Fr. Toji Puthenkaduppil CMI, Principal, presided over the function and felicitated the gathering. Ms. Linumol Wilson welcomed the gathering and Ms. Amala John proposed vote of thanks. It was organised by the Department of Police, Idukki, and the class and exercise were conducted by a batch of women police officers from Idukki and Murickassery stations. The result was a rare opportunity for the female students for learning the skills of self-protection directly from the police force.

There were also other innovative and entertaining events such as tongue twisters, Kerala quiz and speaking about a given topic continuously for two minutes completely in Malayalam. The programme concluded with National Anthem.
