Principal’s Day - 26th February 2018

Many things could be said about a principal, about his role and importance and so on. But one thing that is unique about Rev. Fr. Toji Puthenkaduppil CMI, our dear Principal, is that he is a students’ principal. Pupils can count on him for anything that is just and reasonable. They are rest assured that he is there whenever they need him. You would rarely see a principal who maintains such a cordial relationship with his charges while not compromising academic performance and discipline. The same applies to members of the staff too, who considers him as a loving elder brother.

26th February 2018 was observed as the Principal’s Day, and the entire family of Girijyothi College celebrated his life and achievements. Rev. Fr. Babu Mattathil CMI, our dear Manager and Rev. Fr. Biju Vettukallel CMI, Principal, Girijyothi CMI Public School, were full of praise for the kind and considerate person that Fr. Toji is. They reminded the audience of his sacrifice and selfless service to the College and CMI congregation. There was also a long line of students who conveyed their greetings and extended felicitation on the occasion.
Rev. Fr.  Babu Mattathil CMI together with Rev. Fr. Biju Vettukallel CMI, Mr. Sivaprasad N., staff secretary,  and student representatives Mr. Sajailal Saji, Ms. Anjali Benny and Ms. Dani Wilson, presented Fr. Toji Puthenkaduppil with a gift - a symbol of love and affection of the entire Girijyothi community. Following this, Fr. Toji thanked everyone for their prayers and greetings in his reply speech. He pointed out that a principal is entrusted with the responsibility of educating, empowering and enlightening the wards under his care and that is what he has been humbly trying to do.

Fittingly, Third Year students made a very intriguing Power Point presentation as a tribute to Fr. Toji. It featured his family members and several vital moments in his life such as Childhood, First Communion, Ordination and other crucial stages in his life. All this revealed how much the students loved and respected father, and how much they cared for him. There were also a few cultural programmes by students in honour of the principal.

The final event of the day was prize distribution in which the he champions of our college in various arts and sports competitions were recognized and honoured. Prizes were jointly distributed by Fr. Babu and Fr. Toji. The whole programme was meticulously compared by Ms. Sreekutty Soman, First Year F&T, and came to a close with the vote of thanks by Ms. Dani Wilson, Vice Chairperson. The meeting ended with national anthem.
