Christmas Celebration

On 23^rd December 2016 snowflakes of Christmas showered upon Girijyothi College, Cheruthoni. The Christmas programs started exactly at 10:00am with class based Crib making Competition. The competition came to an end by 12:30 pm. After the lunch break Carol song competition, Tableau, and Santa clause competitions too were held. After the competitions Rev. Fr. Toji Puthenkaduppil CMI, Principal, Girijyothi College, gave his Christmas Greetings to the students. Followed by this, the prizes were announced. I B.Com. F&T and II B.Com won the first and second prizes respectively for Crib making competition. For the Carol song second B. Com students won the first prize and III B.Com won the second price. For the Tableau competition I B.Com F&T won the first prize and II B.Com won the second prize. For the Santa clause competition, which attracted the audience, I BA Economics (Thomas P.B.) won the first prize and II B.Com. (Amal Roy) won the second prize. Fr. Principal distributed the prizes. College appreciated Mr. Amal John, II B. Com, Computer Application student, for securing highest marks in first semester university examinations. Rev. Fr. Babu Mattathil CMI handed over a gift and Rev. Fr. Principal announced 20% fee reduction as a token of appreciation. As Christmas charity staff and students have taken special initiative to collect used dress in order to distribute among the poor. They have collected many good cloths for both men and women and handed over to Karunya Trust. This was an exemplary move from the part of staff and students.  The programme ended at 4:00 pm. The college was closed for Christmas vacation.
