Seminar on Cyber Crime
A seminar was conducted
on 1st September 2015, from 02:00 pm to 04:00 pm, at the Girijyothi
College Auditorium, on the topic ‘Cyber Crime.’ The seminar was organized by
Idukki District Cyber Cell head, Mr. Sasidharan. Rev. Fr. Toji Puthenkaduppil
CMI introduced the speaker and Rev. Fr.
Babu Mattathil CMI welcomed the speaker to the audience.
Mr. Sasidharan
conducted the class with the aid of PowerPoint presentation. He informed the
audience of the diverse aspects of using internet and mobile phones. He made it
clear that cyber crime is a serious offence and punishable in nature. Each
person is supposed to use the SIM card in his/her name; otherwise it will be a
punishable offence. Yet, children can use the SIM cards of their parents. If we
lose mobile phones, then we can recover it with the help of the cyber cell. If a
person is missing, then also we could find him/her by following mobile signals.
The seminar lasted for
two hours, and Ms Jyothimol, from Commerce Faculty, proposed gratitude to the
gathering.
