GIRIJYOTHI COLLEGE INAUGURATION

22nd August 2015

“Enlightenment, Innovation and Excellence,” keeping this motto in mind, Girijyothi College is all set for the maiden voyage. The Official inauguration of the college was scheduled for 22^nd  August 2015 and  the college eagerly waited for the arrival of Shri. Oommen Chandy, Honorable Chief Minister of Kerala.

Rev. Fr. Toji Puthenkaduppil CMI, Principal, welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr. Thomas Manjakunel CMI, Provincial, Carmel Province, Muvatupuzha presided over the meeting. Chief Minister, Shri. Oommen Chandy, spoke about how the college windows are open to the students who aspire for good education. He inspired the audience with his brief description on the value of good education and emphasized on becoming keen in satisfying the demands set up by the education scenario.  He wished the college a triumphant journey and officially inaugurated the college.

The Civil Service Academy, another venture by Girijyothi College, to equip the students to become successful civil service personnel, was inaugurated by Shri. P.J Joseph, Honorable Minister for Water Resources, in the presence of the Honorable Chief Minister. The college Library was then inaugurated by Adv. Joice George, MP, Idukki, who spoke about the importance of nurturing reading habits among students.

Shri. Roshy Augustine, MLA, Idukki, inaugurated the Medicinal Garden by planting a sapling. He expounded the significance of protecting habitat and keeping a sound relation with the nature around us. The official website of the College, was inaugurated by  Rev. Dr. Fr. George Thuravakkal CMI, Councilor, Education Department, Carmel Province, Muvattupuzha. He distributed the prizes to the Short Film winners.

Shri. M.T Thomas, President,  Idukki Zilla Panchayat, Shri. A.P Usman, President, Idukki Block Panchayat, Shri. Shijo Thadathil, President,  Vazhathope Grama Panchayat, Shri. K.V Joseph IPS,  SP, Idukki, Smt. Tintu Subash, Vice President Grama Panchayat, Adv. Georgy George, Member, Zilla Panchayat, Shri. Anil Aneeykanat, Member, Block Panchayat, Smt. Prabha Thankachan,  Member, Vazhathope Grama Panchayat and Shri. Sajan Kunnel, President, Merchant Association, Cheruthoni blessed the occasion with their esteemed presence.

Rev. Fr. Babu  Matathil CMI, Head of Girijyothi group of Institutions,  thanked the dignitaries and the audience. The inaugural function winded up with National Anthem.
