The
Rediscovered Art of Yoga – International Yoga Day - 21 June 2017
Yoga is as much
Indian as are Puranas and Itihasas. And we at Girijyothi College
take pride in our rich and unique cultural heritage and tradition.
On a rare sunny
morning, when the monsoon rain took a hiding amongst the vanishing clouds, the
entire family of Girijyothi assembled on the courtyard to celebrate the
International Yoga Day. A few dynamic drills were performed by one of our staff
members.
It is more than
likely that students may have returned to their classes with a sense of
refreshed energy – in mind and body.

What would have
been more appropriate than planting a young sapling of Arjun Tree (Terminalia
Arjuna), locally known as Neermaruth
to supply fresh breath of life to cure the ailing planet. In fact, that is what
we did. Rev. Fr Babu Mattathil CMI, the Manager marked the World Environment
Day by planting the same which is renowned for its medicinal properties in
treating cardiac diseases.
