                                                        Arts Day

The arts day programs of Girijyothi College, Cheruthoni, took place on 13 January 2017. Various competitions were conducted to bring out the talents of the students.  Ms. Amala John student representative welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr. Babu Mattathil CMI, Manger, Girijyothi College, delivered the presidential address wherein father spoke about the importance of arts in the integral development of a child. Father also appreciated the Chief Gust, Sri Roshy Augustine, MLA, Idukki, for having received the Best Legislature Award 2016. The programe was then inaugurated by the chief guest by lighting the Lamp. During his inaugural address he focused on the need for the improvement of educational institutions that are paving the way for the future generations, he also appreciated the marked development that Girijyothi College has made. Fr. Manager, handed over a memento to the MLA as a token of appreciation from Girijyothi College. Rev. Fr. Toji Puthenkaduppil CMI, Principal, Girijyothi College, and Sri. Amal John, General Secretary, college union, felicitated the gathering. Arts Club Secretary Mr. Gokul J. Menon, proposed vote of thanks. With this the Dias was opened for various competitions where the students participated with vigor and spirit. The competitions were held on individual as well as house basis. Green, Blue, Yellow and Red houses competed each other. Yellow house won the first prize and red house bagged the second prize. Thus the day was chilled with the colour of arts.
