Independence Day

Girijyothi College, Cheruthoni, conducted the Independence Day programme on 12^th August 2016 at 2.00pm. Vazhathope Grama Panchayath Member Sri. Roy Joseph presided over the function. Followed by the prayer song led by the college choir. Mr. Abins Kurian, of II B.com Computer Applications, welcomed the gathering. The programme was then inaugurated by Sri. Roy Joseph with his valuable words. He said: “Independence is not only the right of an individual but at the same time duty towards one’s nation.” Followed by this Rev. Fr. Babu Mattathil CMI, head of Girijyothi Group of Institutions, Rev. Fr. Toji Puthenkaduppil CMI, Principal, Giriyothi College, Ms. Litty Sunny Assistant Professor, Girijyothi College and Amal John, of II B.com Computer Applications, felicitated the gathering.

 The dias was then opened for various competitions. Initially Quiz competition on Freedom Struggle and Independence was conducted. Third B.com and  Second B.com students bagged the prizes. It was followed speech competition and patriotic song competitions. Beema Yoosuf and Anadhu Lalichan of I BA Economics shared first and second prizes for speech competition and II B.com and III B.com classes won the prizes for patriotic song competition.

The session thus filled in with inspring ideas on Independence came to an end with the National Anthem.
