Beginning of First Year Degree Classes 2016-17

27^th July 2016 was an auspicious day for Girijyothi College Cheruthoni, Idukki. The Management, Staff and Students welcomed the new blossoms into the Girijyothi family. The Inaugural session began exactly at 10.00 am with a prayer song led by the college choir. Ebin Paulose, college union chairman welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr. Toji Puthenkaduppil CMI, Principal, Girijyothi College, then delivered an introductory talk about the CMI congregation, the management, the college and its rules and regulations. Each new student was then welcomed to the institution with a flower by Rev. Fr. Babu Mattathil CMI, Manager and Head of Girijyothi Group of Institutions. After delivering his valuable message, Fr. Babu inaugurated the academic year by handing over the academic texts to the staff members and also by giving a lighted candle to Josmi Jojo, the top scorer among the fresher’s as a symbol of enlightenment. Ms. Sona Sabu of I B.com Finance and Taxation then proposed vote of thanks and the programme came to an end opening the session for orientation of the students.

The Orientation began by 11.15am. The initial talk on “ How to Study, Present Trends in Education” was led by Mr. Ajith Bhasi and Ms. Jyothimol N.R  Followed by it a talk “Introducing University and Semester System” was done by Ms. Sobhana Kumari and Ms. Bincy Varghese. After the students were dispersed for lunch by 2.00 pm when they rejoined they were given a talk on” Need for Career Oriented Study and Group Discussion” by Ms. Elizabeth Sebastian, Ms. Giss George and Mr. Rubin John. Then Ms. Nivya Tom, Mr. Ajith Bhasi, Ms. Litty Sunny and Mr. Alan George gave the students an empowering talk on “Job Opportunities” with this day filled in with lots of valuable inputs came to an end.
