Annual Sports Meet

Annual Sports Meet of Girijyothi College was held on 12 February 2016. The events began with march past. Rev. Fr. Babu Mattathil, Manager and Chief Guest of the day, inaugurated the sports meet. All the students actively participated in various events with full sportsman spirit. Students were divided into four houses viz., Yellow, Blue, Green and Red. The competitions of the day kicked off with an interesting hat passing event for teachers. Thereafterthe various competitions such as race ( 100m, 200m, 400m and 1500m), long jump, 4x100m relay and Shot, Javelin and discus throw were conducted in the first session.

Games like Volley Ball, Foot Ball, Cricket, Caroms, Chess, Badminton, Shuttle (Singles and Doubles) made the event most colourful. Individual Championship awards for boys and girls were bagged by Sarath Mani and Jovalna Jolly respectively. The events were finished off with the most energetic and cheered football match. The overall championship was bagged by Yellow House. All teaching and non-teaching staff guided the sports events of the day with their fair and accurate judgement. The prizes will be distributed on the college day.
