CHILDRENS
DAY CELEBRATIONS (Nov. 14, 2016)
There
is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up,
says, John Holmes. Students of Girijyothi College too reached down and extended
their hearts towards the young ones of the Boys Home in Mulakuvalli,
Cheruthoni, run by Sisters of Snehagiri Congregation. On 14th
November 2016, Children’s Day, with the whole hearted support of the management,
the students collected rice, peas and other food items and offered it to the
young ones of the Boys’ Home. On that day by 02:00 pm the students along with the
Principal, Rev. Fr. Toji Puthenkaduppil CMI, staff representatives Mr. Rubin
John and Ms. Giss George reached the Boys’ Home. Rev. Sr. Superior and
community extended a warm welcome. Then the inmates introduced themselves and
considered the college students as their elder brothers and sisters. After
distributing the collected items, a short session of variety entertainments
both by the students of our college and boys home performed. The students were
so enthusiastic that they interacted and made a smile in the face of the
children. The interaction was informal and pleasant. By 3:45 pm the students
returned and they made the children cheerful.
